Skype Conversation with Clint

This was while we were at Dad's house. It took him a while to find a place where it was going to work. We're so glad that we got to skype. It was a million times better than a phone call. I wish I could do this with all of the Elders I know!

One of my personal favorite things was that he kept slipping into Spanish.....and instead of saying "um" he would say "commo."
He really seems like he has things figured out. He was the best big brother when He left. I can only Imagine what he will be like when he gets back.
He also reminded us that we need to focus more on reading the scriptures, saying our prayers, and attending church.
What a man.

Letter from Clint- A week of ups and downs- Sent January 30,2012

this week has been a little bit crazy. my companion elder jacinto has about 5 months in the mission. he has some things to learn like obedience. haha  but he has a lot of desire to help out the less active members to com back to church. but he has little desire to look for new investigators and teach them. this week we have been working a lot with the branch. we felt that the branch was falling so we are  trying to help out with the  strength  of the members. but we have been failing to teach are new investigators. it drives me crazy sometimes how  week  the member are here. i want to say out of this branch we have about 30 people that come normally and only about 5-6 saints that really have a conviction of what is taught and they live. them and those five or six people enter the temple often....   That shows you the difference. WHOSE MAKING THE EFFORT TO GO TO THE TEMPLE... if not you are not a saint... you are only a member of the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth. SAINTS enter temples. Saints obey the commandments of God. I Like the scripture that says. if you cant keep the smallest commandment. you will be small in the kingdom of god.  

This week we found an old investigator of the elders from Santiago in are area she had moved and was very down that she had moved and lost contact with the missionaries. but to make things a little shorter she is preparing with my companion and I for her baptism this Saturday.  Her name is Gladis and she is 16.

Letter from Clint- Cambios

Hello family we just had some exchanges and i do not have so much time today. Elder Janssen left to go to TEPIC and my new companion is mexican, Elder Jacinto he is from the state of mexico, the city of Tabasco were they sell the Tabasco sauce. he seems like he will be a really great  misionary to work with he has little in the mission like 4 transfers but he seems really dertirmand in the obedience. I am excited to se the outcome of this transfer. we bauptized secundino... yes there are photos that i attached finaly haha. well i better go i love you all. the church is true. hi family dont have a lot of time today. but this week i had divisions with elder roberts from utah it was good. we are preparing segundino for bauptism this sundy. i tried to pull up some photos but i picked a bad computer again. tomarrow we have interviews twith presiddent and i will probable get all my cristmas stuff. things are progresing well here. hello family this week was good. we found a lot of new investigadores and we are planing to have a bauptizm this satuaday his name is Octavio. He has a girlfriend that is in the branch here and she is really encoraging him to get bauptized, he has stopped drinking for about a week now and we have a chance to teach him all the lessons in this week so he will be prepared for saturday. For the Following week the14 of january we are going to bauptize Segundino. He is an older man,  He reminds me a lot of Cindy Laird my Aunt. haha. He can not hear very well. and he had a stroke in the pased. he also just recently los his wife that took care of him. but now one of the sisters in the branch here is taking care of him. That is how we found him the sister told us that he wanted to talk with us. this week things are alot better with my companion and I. I think things will only get better now that we are done with the holadays. the was a pretty sweet firework show for new years we can see the ocean from are house and the whole city was lit up with fireworks it was awsome. but still not as cool or as long as idaho falls fireworks for the 4th. haha love you all take care got to go prepare the district class revalation through the book of mormon. Merry cristmas, this week we have not had to much of an oportinity to stay out prostiliding we had a pre christmas party en colima the 15th and we had a Christmas devotional where we were the program- we sang. we also had an open house there is a new church here in manzanillo and we help out with that but we didnt have a lot of success. We had more succes this week that i have had sence i have been in manzanillo the people are a little harder to help. 

This christmas we have the oportunity to use SKYPE to talk to are Families. I do not know how to use skype Family do you know how to use Skype the will help me figure it out here. but for there. please email me a number or a person i can call using skype so we can talk face to face well sort of. if not i will have to find someone with a phoneline

I JUST SO HAPPENED THAT I PICKED A BAD COMPUTER AGIAN:( cant sent any photos today how lame. 

haha in the christmas party with president we did a sketch i got the oportunity to see my mission dad. and my bother and my nephew haha crazy i already have a family. i will sent you the photo the nephew and my brother are in my zone now. I had fun this week.

This place is really beautiful and i sweat when i go out to work but when we are teach a lesson or eating it is bien fresco. I am working out of another branch her we have about 40 people that come to church. My new companion is Elder Jenssen he is from Utah he will complete 1 year in the mission this month. I am the senor companion and i cant tell there is a lot of changes to be made around here. All the investigators that we had did not come to church but all of the less actives that we taught came. The people here are more difficult to talk with and leave them with promises. that doesn't mean there is not room for progression. It just means that we have to find out how. I am so lost still the tuxpan nayarit is a small town and manzanillo is really big autobuses a million streets hills everything. so i am still kind off backwards. i tried to hook up my camera to sent pictures but i am really bad with computers. haha i will have to sent this pictures another time. 

I gave a talk in the branch this week, i had a lot of people coment that it was a good talk. 

not much today things are hecktic with christmas coming soon district class is an hour Earlier so we have to cut things short agian today. LOVE YOU ALL  LOS AMO ELDER LONG

really quickly i am in Mansanillo colima, and it is the most butifual place i have been en my mission. haha it is cool but to get here i was 12 hours en bus tuxpan a guadalajara y after guadlajara a manzanillo really long. sorry not very long have five minutes to write pres. LOS AMO ELDER LONG

not much time and the computer is slow. this week was really hard and All of are bauptism dates have fallen throw this week we are going to find one of are old investigadors and try an baptize them. the photos that I am sending is photos from the beaches of san blas and the bauptism i had from this transfer that wanted that i do the ordanance in my privious area, santiago. The Mom of floripis. it was a good experince and a good day. the weather is cooling off here but it is like a nice summer day compared to idaho. haha well i got to run sorry adios. oh  we had a conference with elder octovio Tenorio for the 70 it was a great confrence and district class was excelent. hola familia y amigos. How is everyone. jaja we just got done with a zone activity in san blas. we went to the beach, eat at a really nice restaurant called Maui Maui i believe.  A member owns the restaurant and we eat for free it was really good.  then we climbed the mountain and saw the view of san blas, nayarit. it was fun. we are not able to return back to tuxpan tonight so i am spending the night here in my old area, Santiago. we had a lot of lessons with members this week the most i have had in all my mission 17. it was good. we did not have a baptism this week and the family that we had planned for the following week fell through. there was a big activity here and everyone went to it on Sunday. the thing that makes me a little mad is that even the members went and it was not an activity that was in agreance  with keeping the Sabbath day holy. we had sacrament and the president of the branch dismissed everyone for there house becuase we had none of the teachers for the following classes. we had one investigator, FERIRICO, We have him planed to be baptised the 3rd of December. things with my companion have been better. i just have ignored him when something bugs me. because if i tell him he bugs me more. i feel kinda bad because he bugs others just as bad. All i can say is I applied something new and it work for the better. i cant change my companion but i can change how i work with him. its up to him to change. i am not sure if he is adhd or what but he is everywhere in thought and action. oh well. i need to do what i need to do. With the problems i have or not. ha ha. i know this church is true. the spirit is the key to this work. and if we are obident we will receive blessings love elder long.
