Men's View on Modesty

So this weekend Ricardo Gonzalez Valencia was baptised. We did the ordinances of baptism and receiving the gift of the holy ghost in his house. the had a litte pool in there house so he was baptised in it. It was the first time I had actually baptised someone outside of a church building. it took a lot of work. President from the Missions permission, we had to get a special interview set up with a stake president, and we had to have the bishopric in the baptism it was super hard but he was baptised and confirmed. The also this week Karen was baptised. she was a reference that we have received from sister Cecilia, she is Orlando's mom. Karen is Cecilia´s niece, so we ended up teaching her allot in cecilia´s house but we ended up right before her baptism really figuring out were she lived and she was just outside of are ward boundaries, so she was a pass and baptized for the other elders. 

we didn't have any investigators church today, all that means is that we got to change thing in how, where, and who we are working with.

Well first of to tell you a little bit more about my companion, he is from Honduras. Just below Mexico. He has only 3 months in the mission this is his first transfer, The first companion is the Father and the following is the stepfather. so i am his step father. I am in the ward called the Garanja it is about 15 min from the Temple. We work pretty well together. 

Guadalajara is a lot different place to work in the mission. The people here are a lot harder of heart. So Contacting and knocking doors doesn´t work at all. We have to look for ways to work with the members and gain there confidence. It is a ward here so that is cool. All my passed areas have been branches and the people there were a little bit more open to the gospel but the work can still be done. just got to work with the members a lot, lots of training, asking for references, less actives, exc. but i think it will be really good do do all these things in other areas. I have a package on the way i hope it gets home before Sadie's birthday. Take care got to go love you.

Alright so this week has been kinda ruff. this week the family that we were planing on baptizing they fell through because the dad has a problem with drinking. his family is all prepared for baptizm but they all want to get it done together so. we are going to try one more week with them but it is looking a little ruff with that situation. Being a district leader is kinda hitting me a little harder being that i got to take care of 3 other areas and also have to report every night to the zone liders. the last change i had 1 other area and i lived with the zone liders. but i think it is all part of the refiners fire. its bending me to be a better sirvent of the lord.

 

we did find someone that will get bauptized the 21 of this month. her name is marta, not long ago she had surgury and she was actually dead for about six minutes and then she came out of it but she cant walk. but she is so prepared of god. she basically said she wanted bauptizm without us even mentioning so when she said that we just put the date.

To answer some questions the district leader has to prepare the
District Class. Then I have to do more services like pass informacion
to the zone leaders on how there areas are going and I also do
bauptismal interviews when they are ready to be bauptized. There are a
lot of other little things but those are the most important.

This week was ok we got a lot of new refrences this week, but the bad
thing was is that none of the people I had tought and bauptized came
to church yestarday. lets go work hard with the converts this week and
the refrences we got. We have a bauptizm planned in two weeks his name
is Octavio, His mom is a member but she went inactive. we found her
when we were knocking doors. He is a really smart kid and his mom is
now really faithfull in going to church she has even helped us pick up
investigadors.

Hello family really quickly over the passed weekednd we bauptized and confirmed the Efrain`s father.His name is Santiago. This weeking we will be bauptizing again an older lady, Esther. Then the following weekend we have a kid Oscar that we found when we where knocking doors his family is less active and he has not been bauptized so we are helping them return to church and he will be baptized the following weekend.

 

I will be staying with Elder Polo untill the end of this transfer. The end of this transfer Elder Polo will be going home. He is a really good Elder, I work really well with him. it is cool that i have a companion that has about completed all of his mission I have Learned alot from him. He is a really great teacher and really cares for others over himself.

What's up?!

Alright so now i am in an other area. I am now in bugambilius Still here in guadalajara but it is a different zone my companions name is elder polo. he is about to go home he has about three weeks more in his mission. I dont think i will be here for very long they told me to pack for four days and then i will be  going back. Maybe presidente will live me here i have no idea. 

this week i have learned alot we did thinks alittle more creative and we had  a little more success. I am really trying to teach the people not the leasson. I feel Like i am geating pretty well at it. 

MOM I will be talking to you this sunday the 6th. i am not sure at what time because i dont know where i will be or who my companion is. it is that we have transfers on mothers day. i Love you All take. I am trying to make it a habit to read ch.6 of preach my gocpel it is really good. ELDER LONG

Sadie's Birthday

I lost my son

I dont know what just happened, The took me away from my son. i had only trained him for about 6 weeks and then they changed us out. i dont know why. but now i am in the city of guadalajara in a part called Garanja. my new companion is elder cordon. It really took me by suprise this transfer. but i will be the stepfather of Elder Cordon. This passed week was ok. Alot of apostacy that happens here easter week. It is called the holy week. they do a bunch of catholic things and not alot of people are in there homes so we didnt have a whole lot of succes. early this week are investigador Araceli, her bother got in a tragig accident at work and she didnt go to the confermacion the following sunday. Araceli within the passed 6 month three of here close family members have died. when she makes it out of all the trails she will be a really strong person. Hopefully a really strong member. I did learn a lot in my transfer with elder cervantes. I Have got to Go LOVE YOU ALL Elder long

Conference weekend

Well this week has been pretty good. we bauptized Pedro and Araceli this weekend between the second confrence on saturday and priesthood. It was pretty good but they still need to be confirmed the follow sunday and that has me a little worried but i am sure it will work out. I have tried to send photos from my camera but i think it has beetles or something. whatever i will just print some pictures and send them in the mail the following monday. As of now we do not have a lot of people to teach and it is the holy week here right know. when they celibrate the death and resurrecion of jesus christ. so we will see how much work we can get done. I am learning a tone of new things and it is cool to see the difference when i actually apply it. Take Care i love you all

Skype Conversation with Clint

This was while we were at Dad's house. It took him a while to find a place where it was going to work. We're so glad that we got to skype. It was a million times better than a phone call. I wish I could do this with all of the Elders I know!

One of my personal favorite things was that he kept slipping into Spanish.....and instead of saying "um" he would say "commo."
He really seems like he has things figured out. He was the best big brother when He left. I can only Imagine what he will be like when he gets back.
He also reminded us that we need to focus more on reading the scriptures, saying our prayers, and attending church.
What a man.
